So, What's next in new technology?

I'm just amazed with the master-minds behind new and improved electronics each year. I've been on the hunt for another home computer for some time now, but after my best buy visit last night. I let the store with this awesome destop. It's the wireless, touch screen deskstop. Yep, you heard it right. There's no unsightly wires everywhere between the keyboard, mouse, speakers and cpu. Everything is simply built into the monitor. The mouse and keyboard connect through wireless connection to the destop. There's a built in light under the monitor to view the keyboard better in the dark. It has just as much memory, speed, and picture quality as any other top destop with cords. I'm so excited with this new, cleaned up version of a computer.

Thought of the Day:
 God makes two promised in this verse to me, one promise is that he will multiply my years on this earth and the other promise is that I will have increase. But, in order to have these promises we must have a holy reverence for God and allow him to give us the wisdom and understanding that we need to walk from day to day.

The Heavenly Bowling Lane

It's such a great feeling to know that God gave parents the ability to calm, comfort and nuture their kids during scary times. Noa walks into my bedroom at o'dark thirty rubbing her eyes from the tears of fear. She's afraid of a early morning thunderstorm. She has a habit of running into our room everytime one comes. It felt so special to tell her that "God will protect us to not be afraid". I also love every opportunity to let her imagination run wild by making up things to help ease her mind. I reached over, put my arms around her and said, "Imagine Jesus up in heaven having an awesome bowling match...those rolls of thunder is his heavenly bowling lanes!" A smile creeps across her face as she crawls into our bed and drifts back off to sleep. I treasure these moments for they don't come around too often.

Prayer for the Day

Dear Lord,
I'm grateful for the privilege to come before you today asking for your grace and mercy for the areas in my life that wasn't pleasing in your sight today. forgive me for my my ingratitude, ungodly thoughts, and my anger towards situations that I can't change. I accept your headship in my life and I know that everything you do is for a purpose and that you will not give me more than I can bear in my life. You are in control of my life, my health issues and I need to keep that on my mind when my blood pressure rises, the headaches come, and I feel terrible in my body. I pray for peace in this world of wars and rumors of wars. I ask that you open our eyes to you're soon coming and that we be ready to meet you in the air. In Jesus Name. Amen.

The Best Quiche on this side of Heaven Recipe!

Quiche Recipe- (I got this recipe from a good friend, Lynn)
4 eggs
1 pint heavy creme
1 block of "Muenster" cheese from WalMart deli (cut in small squares)
1 deep dish pie crust
1 fist full of broccoli florets
3 tbsps of sharp chedder
1 handful of pepperjack cheese
1 pinch of sea salt
1 pinch of pepper
(additional optional items to add in quiche=onions, bacon, ham, tomatoes, green pepper, black olives)


Lay muenster cheese/chedder cheese on botttom of pan, then brochi, then muenster cheese/ pepperjack jack. (layer it like a lasagne). Then, blend 1 pint of heavy creme and 4 eggs together (that's the ratio for each pie), pour the mixture on top of your cheese and broccoli in the pie crust just below rim of pie crust. Then bake on 350 for 30 minutes. Let sit for 20 minutes after taking it out of the oven. Then serve it with Walmart precut deli  french bread and butter. Yummy.

Here's the cheaper version of the pottery barn farm table that was listed for 5200.00. My table comes with more chairs for more guests. Also, the chairs are more kid friendly than the other set. They are the suede, country boot looking fabric. This set is sales for 1/5 the price of the pottery barn set as just 999.00. If you want a unique flare to the table, try completely different chairs from another set like I did. I will later post this set in my new home so you can see how it can be designed around modern pieces. No, I won't be purchasing the country hutch, just the table and chairs.

So, I've been on the hunt for a farm table set for for our new formal living. The reason I decided on a farm table is because it is kid friendly. It has the beaten up, worn look to it. No, one farm table is the same for they are all uniquely handcrafted, distressed, beaten up, and made to look absolutely timeless. Any chair will go with the table. I also like farm tables because they fit with any design style. Traditonally, these tables were intended to be for country style but designer have found that they work with all styles and have been featured in pottery barn, west elm, ikea, and zgallerie stores. Unfortunately, my budget doesn't allow for this particular set which is a Pottery Barn set but I'm very thrifty. God wants us to be good stewarts over our money and as a wife it's my duty and honor to look for good deals. That doesn't mean that I have to sacrifice style or have my home furnitured with road side broken down furniture. It just means that I just don't jump on the 1st nice item that I see for it may not be the best deal out there. So, here's a picture of this beautiful 5200.00 set and I've searched and found one simliar this time for cheaper.

Just a quick update from my earlier post today, we reached a final offer today and a "SOLD" sign will in outside soon....isn't God great!!!! Thanks to everyone who prayed for the sale of our home, we really appreciate all the love. Have a blessed weekend.

I hosted a scentsy party today for a friend and it was a success. We had a small group show up but I enjoyed the good conversations, smelling all the lovely fragances, the fun games, and the food. Thanks to all who attended the brunch, it really means alot to me and my family.

busy, busy!

It's amazing how much I get accomplished while not having my phone light up with texts from facebook messages every few minutes. I can keep my email box clear now, instead of signing in to hundreds of fb emails that I have to keep deleting. It is so liberating and I've become a busy woman lately doing other things. I've been more active in helping out a Noa's school this week. I worked three days with the school's book fair and earned 15 bucks of book vouchers for Noa to spend. Lord knows, I wasn't going to give her much money out of my pocket for those overpriced books. lol. So, I worked out perfectly and I enjoyed getting to know some other mother's who volunteered as well.
This week has been hectic. We've had a showing on our home everyday this week. Thankfully, we did receive an offer on our home two days ago that we've been going back and forth with counter offers. Today should be the last and final counter offer between both parties and we're getting so close to putting a "SOLD" sign in our front yard.
Also, I'm hosting a Brunch at my home today. It's a scentsy brunch and it should be alot of fun. I've ordered some of my favorite foods for the brunch and I'll be experimenting for the 1st time grilling smoked ham, apple jelly, cheese, carmalized onions on french bread sandwiches. It's just like me to try something new on a day that I have guests coming over. I like living on the edge, I guess. lol. To serve with my sandwiches, we'll have fresh sweet brocholi salad. Yummy. It's bitter sweet to have this brunch, for it will be the last gathering at my home before we move away. I'm hoping to get some wonderful memories from this party.

Surgery, Surgery! No fun.

It's been a few days since I've written in my blog. I just want to update everyone on our family and the events that have occured this week. Noa is back in action at school. The schools had been snowed out for the pass two weeks. So, she's sorta happy to get back in the swing of things. Reggie checked her out of school yesterday for a doctor's appt. relating to her swollen tonsils. She'll have to get surgery to have them removed. The doctor said that she'll be down for around two weeks post op. So, we've decided to wait until the summer and have them removed.
Today, I took Jadon to his eye doctor. He has a wandering eye. He's had it since he was born. We are just getting up enough guts to get him in the get his eyes fixed. So, he's scheduled for surgery at the end of this month to tighten the muscles in his eyes. My poor kids are going under the knife, no fun.
Other than that, we had an awesome week. Valentines day was great as usual, I got spoiled and we went out to eat at one of my favorite spots "Charleston's", the wait time was forty minutes, it was worth it. I love the shrimp cargot appetizer, I get it everytime we go there.  
Also, our home got shown three times this weekend and we have two serious interested families. (yippy) I hope it all works out with this house. I'm tired of trying to keep it clean with a one year old.

It's Official!

It's official, I've deleted my facebook account as of today. I feel sad on one side of the scales, but liberated on the other side of the scales. The sadness comes from those friends who kept their facebook pages a clean, friendly, Godly, positive place that I loved to view. The liberation comes from releaseing myself from all the drama and those who seem to feel their page with ungodliness, hate, unexceptable pictures, and things that I personally don't agree with or support. I had no control over what my friends posted, neither did they on what I posted. That's what made it so dangerous because we don't all have the same views, opinions, beliefs, convicitons and lives. There's bound to be jealousy, deceit, hatred, conflict, and disunity with over 300+ posts hourly going and coming off each others pages. But, today is a new day and I'm excited to take the first step in making better choices for myself and my family. I've haven't been more happier in my life and I'm actually real excited to have this blog. I'm passionate about a lot of things and you will get a glimpse of my inner soul and heart as you read from week to week. So, thanks again for those who have joined. It means a lot to me to know that you've went the extra step to visit my blog and join. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. =) Have a blessed Sunday!

The Beauty of Mirrored Furniture

Mirrored furniture is one of the most beautiful types of furniture that I could imagine. Those who know me, know that I love interior decorating. With mirrored pieces, I love the classic look of them. They will never go out of style, actually they been around for centuries. Mirrored pieces don't over power a room but reflects off of everything in the space. It opens up small spaces and creates an element of sophiscation and elegance to the space. Any color will go with mirrored furniture and any style will fit well with it too. I purchased my first mirrored piece just a few months ago, it was an bedroom end table. It has become my most favorite piece in my home. The only downfall of mirrored furniture that I see is that with kids, you'll be cleaning it a lot. The key is to put them in rooms that the kids don't frequent as often like a guest room, formal dining room or even a home private office. One piece, can be all you need to make that statement in your room.

My prayer for today, is for the Lord to not pass me by! I woke up with a song on my heart and a word in my mouth. Thank you Lord for your grace and your protection.

Blackened Tilapia (simpledailyrecipes.com)

HERE'S ALL IT TAKES

Serves 2

• 2 tilapia fillets
• olive oil
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 2 to 3 teaspoons Road Kill Grill Seasoning

Get the grill hot & ready using a handy dandy chimney starter.
Liberally oil a nonstick grill sheet to help keep the fish from sticking, then set it aside.
Microwave at 80% power, 2 to 3 tablespoons of olive oil and minced garlic for 1 minute. Heat oil just long enough to infuse it with the garlic flavor.
Dry off the fillets with a paper towel, then coat them with garlic oil on both sides. On one side, sprinkle 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons Road Kill Grill Seasoning on fillets.
HANDY TIP
To help keep the spices on the fillet, spray nonstick cooking spray on top of the spices, enough to moisten. If you have a spray bottle for oils, it would come in handy right about now.
Grill tilapia 4 to 7 minutes, depending on thickness of the fillets. DO NOT FLIP. It takes very little time to cook through over a hot grill, so don't go walk away. Test the fillet with a fork; it's done when it flakes apart.

I found a recipe on Simplydailyrecipes.com for blackened tilapia. I'm going to try it for dinner and see how it turns out. I'm a big fan of tilapia. I just always make it the same way. I'll post the recipe that I found for those who love quick, easy recipes.

Affair of the Heart.

The "Affair of the Heart" is coming to town this weekend at the OKC fairgrounds. I remember the first year I attended, it was two years ago during the fall/winter season. I went with some friends from the church and had a wonderful time. I felt like a kid in a candy store beaming with joy as I visited each vendor. What I like about the "Affairs of the Heart" is that each vendor has homemade unique items. You can get homemade hair accessories, purses, jewelry, paintings, jellys, outfits and so much more. I left with several bags of stuff. I had a guy make an impression of my two kids holding hands with this cast material. He had it mounted on a base and it was given to my husband for his birthday. I also bought paintings for both kids rooms and managed to talk a vendor into buying one of her hot pink chandeliers that was hanging up for light in her space. I don't believe it was even for sale! lol. As stated, I had a blast and can't wait to attend this years venue. My husband has warned me that we are moving so I may leave empty handed this time. But, it's always fun to look, get ideas and eat the delicious food there too.

I'm on the hunt for items to put in our home to surround us with the presence of God.
